I am an economist holding a Ph.D. degree from VU University Amsterdam and Tinbergen Institute in Economics (2008). I was an assistant professor at the Development Economics Group at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. My research area was broad covering economic behavior, poverty, agriculture, and institutions. I have also worked for many international organizations such as the World Bank and DFID (UK) as consultant during that period.
In 2013 I worked as a consultant at Ecorys in Rotterdam in the area of monitoring and evaluation in development cooperation. Our main clients are EC, Dutch government, DFID and the World Bank. I was involved in both acquisition and implementation of projects.
After that I worked at Elsevier in Amsterdam as Analytics & Product Manager, performing analyses, presenting, and writing reports on scientific performance for governments, universities and funding bodies. As part of my role, I develop products that help our clients in their research management.
I was Senior Economist at the ING Bank from 2016-2017 covering consumer economics, sustainability and innovation. I obtained insights on consumer financial behaviour and used that to inform innovation and senior-level decision-making.
I am currently Manager HR analytics at Shell in the Hague. My team identifies people-related opportunities and risks by combined analysis of HR data and business data.
In the past years, I have worked in many countries including China, Tanzania, the US, the UK, Slovenia and Yemen. I like to work with people with different cultural background. I also like to travel to different countries, interact with different people and eat good food.
